Let’s learn more about Anthony!

The Basics:

Hometown: Burford, Georgia
Current City: Winder, Georgia
Job Title: General Manager
Years with Massey Services: 3.5 years

Get to Know Anthony:

Q: Who do you admire and why?
A:
My Mother. Never once has she given up – especially when raising 4 children from a young age. For that, I will always be thankful and admire her.

Q: Favorite Sports Team?
A: Georgia Bulldogs

Q: Favorite Snack?
A: Popcorn

Q: What is the one thing you could not live without?
A: My family.

Q: Three words that best describe you?
A: Dedicated, Driven and Leader

The Career:

Q: Tell us a little about your job?
A: I’m the general manager of the GreenUP Alpharetta Service Center. I spent the first 9 years of my career working with pests and termites before making the switch to lawn care and landscape services. I love working with this team – they are some of the most honest and hard working team members and do their absolute best to take care of our customers.

Q: What does your average day look like?
A: I arrive at the office at about 6:00 each morning to prepare for the day and make sure everything is accounted for. I review customer requests and needs and make sure they’re being addressed appropriately. I review sales from the prior day and work with my team on growing the business. Then, I’ll go out into the field to assist my team, when needed, in order to help resolve customer concerns and make sure they’re satisfied with our services.

Q: Share a notable (funny, embarrassing or exciting) experience you’ve had at work:
A: Before switching to lawn care, I was providing a total coverage attic treatment when I came across a King Snake. I told the homeowner and she was visibly not okay with it being there. So, I stopped and removed the snake from the attic. It made the service last a little longer than expected but the customer was elated and extremely thankful for Massey Services.

Q: Who do you look to for inspiration?
A: Anyone who wakes up in the morning and may have a reason not to pursue the day but still gets up and does what has to be done. I lost my father unexpectedly in June 2018 and it made me realize that dwelling on the negative will never create positivity.

Q: What do you believe makes your career at Massey Services truly unique?
A: The fact that every day is different. You never know what you may get to encounter each day.

More from Anthony about the U-Haul story:

“I was servicing a property down the street when I looked down the road to find a couple looking visibly upset while looking at their U-Haul truck. At first I thought they were discussing where to park it but then realized it was stuck. I stopped what I was doing and walked to them to assist with the truck. Then I noticed the truck was bottomed out so I jacked up the rear axle and put some 2×4’s under the back tires to elevate the truck enough to move it.

My interaction with Mr. Frazier was nothing short of amazing. He was truly appreciative of me taking time to help a stranger. Growing up, my father encouraged me to help anyone I can without expectations of reward. In this situation, I had the time and ability to help. I couldn’t imagine leaving the neighborhood without helping Mr. Frazier.”
